How to Play

Every day there is one mystery item from the construction world — a piece of equipment, a tool, a material, a trade, a system, a safety concept or a term. You get six guesses to name it.

Making a guess

Start typing in the guess box and pick the item you want from the suggestions. After each guess you'll see how close you are:

• 🟩 Exact — that clue matches the answer.
• 🟨 Close — you're warm; the clue is related to the answer.
• ⬜ Miss — no match.

Use the clues from every guess together to narrow it down — for example, matching the trade but not the environment tells you a lot.

Scoring

The fewer guesses you need, the more points you earn: 1 guess = 100 · 2 guesses = 80 · 3 guesses = 60 · 4 guesses = 40 · 5 guesses = 25 · 6 guesses = 10. If you use all six guesses without solving, the answer is revealed and the day scores 0 points.

Guests and accounts

Anyone can play — no account needed. Guest play is just for fun: nothing is recorded. Sign up free and your scores are saved, your streak is tracked, and you appear on the all-time leaderboard.

Practice mode

Want unlimited play? Practice mode gives you a fresh puzzle any time. Practice games never count toward your score or streak.

The daily reset

A new puzzle goes live at midnight Central Time (US) every day, following daylight saving. If you've made at least one guess and the day rolls over, the unfinished puzzle counts as a loss for signed-in players: 0 points, one game played, and your streak resets. If you only looked without guessing, nothing is recorded.

Fair play

One account per person. If today's puzzle was played as a guest on the same device or connection, it won't count for your account that day. We review unusual activity and may disqualify players — see the Terms.
